The Vines Resort is one of Perth's most-loved wedding venues for good reason — set deep in the Swan Valley, it pairs manicured gardens and still lakes with wide open fairways and mature trees that make every corner of the property feel considered. Kirra and Mitch chose it for exactly that variety, and their day made full use of it, from getting ready across the resort's rooms to vows in the Garden Pavilion and a reception that barely left the dance floor.
This is a long one, on purpose — Kirra and Mitch's wedding gave us so much to work with across the grounds that we've kept nearly every frame worth telling.
Kirra's morning started quietly — her gown hanging in the light by the window, the details laid out one by one before anyone else was in the room. There's a stillness to these first frames of a wedding day that we always try to protect, before the room fills with hairspray, laughter and bridesmaids in matching robes.
Across the resort, Mitch and his groomsmen were having a very different kind of morning — open lawns, easy laughter, and the sort of relaxed energy that comes from a group of mates who've clearly done this together before. The Vines Resort's fairways gave us plenty of room to work with, and Mitch's side of the day leaned into it.
Kirra and Mitch's ceremony took place in The Vines Resort's Garden Pavilion — a bright, arched space with soaring timber ceilings and walls of glass that flood the room with natural light. It's one of the more intimate ceremony locations on the property, and it gave their vows a genuinely elegant, sheltered feel without losing the sense of being surrounded by the Swan Valley outside.
There's a reason so many Perth couples choose the Garden Pavilion for their vows — it's intimate enough to feel like it's just for them, and elegant enough to hold everyone they love.
The Vines Resort's grounds gave us an enormous amount of room to work with for portraits — open fairways, mature trees, still lakes and even a passing kangaroo or two, which is about as Western Australian as a wedding photo gets. We spent this stretch of the afternoon moving between the wedding party group shots and quieter moments alone with Kirra and Mitch.
Kirra and Mitch's reception was full from the first entrance to the last dance — speeches, a confetti-lined grand entrance, cake cutting and a dance floor that filled up fast and never really emptied. A huge amount of credit for how smoothly the night ran goes to Josh, who MC'd the evening for Event Gang and kept the whole celebration moving without ever losing the room's energy.
Josh kept the whole reception moving without ever letting it feel rushed — exactly what you want from an MC on a night this full.
Thank you, Kirra and Mitch, for such a genuinely fun day at The Vines Resort. From the quiet getting-ready moments through to the last song on the dance floor, your wedding had every part of what makes this job worth doing — real emotion, real laughter, and a couple who were clearly having the time of their lives. If you're planning a wedding at The Vines Resort, in the Swan Valley, or anywhere across Perth and regional Western Australia, we'd love to hear from you.
Congratulations again, Kirra & Mitch. ❤️
